Set up your agent

Install the Cool Kid Tabs CLI and skill to organize synced folders and tabs from your agent.

Use your agent to find saved tabs, create and rename folders, move tabs, and organize your synced library. The CLI connects to the same Cool Kid Tabs account as the extension.

Set up Cool Kid Tabs for this agent. Read https://coolkidtabs.ctx9.com/agents/install.md and follow its public installation instructions. Install the ckt CLI and coolkidtabs-organize skill in this agent's supported user skill directory, verify the CLI, and help me sign in through browser approval. Never read or print credentials. Finish by checking my account and listing my folders without changing them.

The public installation instructions are plain Markdown that an agent can fetch without an account. They explain runtime requirements, installation, login, verification, and the organization document format. No private repository access or CTX9 fleet installation is needed.

What gets installed

  • The ckt command in your user executable directory.
  • The coolkidtabs-organize skill in your agent's supported skill directory.

The installer supports macOS and Linux with Node.js 22 or newer. It verifies the CLI and skill against the service's SHA-256 manifest. Installation does not change your folders or browser profile. Your agent may need a new chat to discover the installed skill.

Sign in once

Run ckt login. Open the approval link and compare its code with the one in your terminal. Sign in with your verified Cool Kid Tabs account and approve CLI access. For a remote terminal, use ckt login --no-browser and open the printed link on your own computer.

ckt status --json verifies the account without revealing credentials. ckt tree lists your folders. ckt logout revokes this CLI session; a password reset revokes all account sessions.

Ask for what you want

For example, "Move my PostgreSQL reading tabs into a Database folder and keep their notes," or "Find duplicate URLs and show me the proposed changes."

The skill has the agent export a fresh organization document, edit it, preview changes, and apply the result. The service checks versions and folder access and commits the whole change together. It rejects stale exports. The CLI saves a before-state file for recovery.

Only synced folders and saved or bookmark tabs are available. Local-only data and live browser windows remain in the extension. Let the extension finish syncing before organizing. Shared folders retain their access boundaries. The current bulk document limit is 1,000,000 UTF-8 bytes.

The CLI does not call an AI provider. Your agent supplies the reasoning and uses the CLI to read and update Cool Kid Tabs.
